Emergency recovery and rebuild of a hacked site for a small business owner.
Scope of work
- Recovered a hacked site using web archives and local caches.
- Provisioned hosting and hosted the site on my server for the full engagement.
- Installed WordPress and configured core settings.
- Selected GeneratePress and a minimal plugin set.
- Designed the layout, typography, colours, and overall look and feel.
- Implemented and customized a free translation plugin.
- Populated the site and translated selected articles into French.
- Successfully remediated client’s “site may be hacked” warning by guiding them through the multi-step process in Google Search Console (GSC).
- Created a social media card and a short promo video for relaunch.
- Applied basic security hardening and off-site backups.
- Provided maintenance and updates for ~3 years.
