From 2013–2017, I worked at the Canadian Teachers’ Federation.
Started as a Publications Assistant and promoted to Multimedia Specialist. Managed WordPress and SharePoint 2013 sites, designed social media graphics and web banners, edited and captioned videos, and formatted and scheduled email campaigns. Published content, monitored social media performance, and provided analytics reports to support the Communications Director.
Notable projects
VOX campaign (campaign website)
Independently built and maintained the bilingual WordPress campaign website (selecting the theme and plugins, structuring the IA, publishing content, and updating throughout campaign) plus produced the companion social image series and a promo video.
Publications Catalogue (online e-store)
Built a bilingual WordPress/WooCommerce site (in cooperation with the system administrator) to replace a clunky online form. I selected the theme and plugins, set up the catalog and checkout, and populated all content in EN/FR. I configured basic store settings, and kept the site updated with regular maintenance and content edits. The increase in sale once the website was launched was substantial.
About CTF (intro video)
I edited two short introduction videos for the Canadian Teachers’ Federation, one in English and one in French, for new teachers. I handled post-production: editing, same-language captions, and on-brand graphics. The videos were extremely well received by the Board of Directors and were later used on the road for new-teacher orientations.
